In September JELD-WEN launched its first edition of the Inspiration Contest for architecture students at Quebec universities. Under the theme “Inspiration,” participants had to present a residential construction project featuring their source of inspiration and JELD-WEN products. A total of $10,000 in prizes was offered, along with a great opportunity for visibility and meetings with industry specialists. Students submitted their projects in November. In January 2009, a jury of industry professionals met to judge the projects.
Prizes were awarded to the winning teams at the Université Laval School of Architecture year-end exhibit on Friday, May 8, 2009, at Espace 400e in Quebec City’s Old Port, where a number of architecture professors and professionals will be present. All entries were highly original and appealing, which did not make the jury’s task of choosing winners easy. JELD-WEN congratulates all those who took part!
